Underwear or no underwear.

Holy scheiße! Am I about to move to Germany?

Between working and balancing all of the other things that most people balance every day (you know, like kids and a house and finances and relationships), the off-season flew right by. I have barely seen my husband. Linden is like sixteen now. And my friends pretty much hate me because they think I have been MIA.

I know that I complain about hockey a lot ... okay, more than a lot ... but if this is what the real world is like, I am happy to put that nonsense off for a few more years.

I mean, stability, schmability right?

(When I start to get all woe-is-me-hockey-effing-sucks on you, someone should remind me that I said that.)

So we have roughly two weeks left at home, before we're on our way to Deutschland. I thought I would be a neurotic mess by now, or more of a neurotic mess, but I am unexpectedly calm. That may or may not have something to do with wine but that is beside the point.

I started packing (and by packing I mean throwing random things into a 30-gallon Rubbermaid bin in the corner of our bedroom). My You’re Moving to Germany in Two Weeks, Get Your Shit Together list is growing exponentially.

And we don’t have airline tickets yet.

Yeah, that’s slightly stressful but pretty standard. Those Europeans, they really like to keep us guessing - keep us on our toes!

The thing is ... I know it will all come together. The big things, they'll be taken care of. And the small things, the things I always manage to get wound up about, just don't matter so much right now. We aren't going to end up in Germany without underwear, you know? I don't have the time or the desire to be as consumed by this move as I have been by moves in the past.

I am just looking forward to being there. Underwear or no underwear.

  5. Hey, most people work better under pressure anyways. These next two weeks will fly by. Try to enjoy yourself and relax a little, even with your ever growing to-do list :)

I will be headed over right when ya'll are, but I on the other hand am staring at the clock just waiting for that time to get here. I don't give a flip about packing, I would go naked right now. Well, they might not like that on the plane, but you know what I mean. Soooo, when am I coming down to visit. Girls trip Oktoberfest?!?!??!
